Proposed amendments in PFRDA bill to make NPS more attractive


     The Cabinet is likely to approve three amendments proposed in the Pension Fund Regulatory Development Authority (PFRDA) Bill, the law relate to New Pension Scheme (NPS).  Central Government Employees who joined in Government Service on or after 01.01.2004 are under NPS. This pension scheme has also been extended to all Indian Citizens.

Stop charging prepayment penalty on home loans: RBI to Banks


In a relief to borrowers, the RBI on Tuesday  asked banks to immediately stop charging penalty on pre-payment of home loans taken on floating interest rates.


"It has…been decided that banks will not be permitted to charge foreclosure charges\pre-payment penalities on home loans on floating interest rate basis, with immediate effect," the Reserve Bank said in a communication to banks.

Dear Postmaster cadre friends, PM cadre officials informal meeting was held on 27.05.2012 at Vadapalani Postoffice Chennai 600026 regarding the present scenario of Postmaster cadre officials and the betterment of the Postmaster Cadre. It is requested, to arrange regional level meetings thro out the nation to make all the officials are aware of this resolutions.


1.       All the Postmaster Grade officials should be permitted to appear in all the LDCE for promotion to PS-Group-B and to Sr.Postmaster.
2.       All the Senior Postmaster Posts should be earmarked for Postmaster Grade officials both for LDCE and for Seniority cum Fitness.
3.       All the notified posts offices in PM Grade –III shall be filled with PM Grade –II officials relaxing the norms fixed by the relevant Recruitment Rule.

Department of Posts (DoP) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (M0U) with Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) on 30 April, 2010 wherein the DoP agreed to offer postal and mail services to UIDAI on the various terms and conditions laid down in the MoU.

Postal dept to set up 1,000 ATMs by 2014

Hyderabad, June 5: 

The Department of Posts will be setting up about 1,000 ATMs in different parts of country by 2014, according to Ms Manjula Prasher, Secretary, Department of Posts, Government of India.
Speaking at an award-presentation ceremony of the department here on Tuesday, Ms Prasher said the department had taken up a technology-induction programme to improve the services.
