India's public sector banks are examining a proposal to a migrate to "five-day a week" work schedule, a move that will likely cheer thousands of employees as state-owned banks hammer out strategies to match private peers' human resource practices. The move, however, may come bundled with conditions attached with postings in remote areas amid mounting government pressure to widen "financial inclusion" in areas that still remain outside the banking net.

RTP Service can not be counted for grant of MACP, Seniority etc - Clarification
It was clarified by Postal Directorate vide letter no 44-1/2011-SPB II dated 12.04.2012 that the service rendered under RTP Scheme prior to regular appointment as P A / S A can not be counted for promotion, seniority and grant of MACP.

India Post's gold offer for Akshaya Tritiya

HYDERABAD, APRIL 16:
India Post is offering 6 percent rebate on gold coins of various denominations this Akshaya Tritiya, according to the Chief Postmaster General, Andhra Pradesh Circle. Buying gold is an important aspect of the festival that is on April 24 this year. The festival offer will be available at designated post offices across Andhra Pradesh on gold coins of 0.5 g, 8 g, 10 g, 20 g and 50 g of 24 carat and 99.99 per cent purity, a press release said.
India Post, in association with the World Gold Council and Reliance Money Infrastructure Ltd, began selling gold coins made by Switzerland's Valcambi in 2008. At present, gold coins are available at more than 800 post offices across the country.
