Shri. N.Ramakrishnan (N.R) Postmaster Grade I, Sriverambur S.O Trichy division has breathed his last on last night. 

He is one among the front runner of our All India Association of Postmater Cadre union, and upto last noon he was speaking with our circle Secretary about the next course of actions of our Association. 

His sudden demise left all of us speechless and put into irrecoverable loss to our association. 

Deep condolences to his bereaved family and his soul may rest in peace.

Finance minister rolls back proposal to tax provident fund

New Delhi, Mar 8 (PTI) In the face of all round attack, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley today completely rolled back the controversial proposal to tax the employees' provident fund (EPF) at the time of withdrawal.

Taking the first opportunity available, he made a suo motu statement in the Lok Sabha in which he also announced withdrawal of imposing monetary limit for contribution of employers to provident and superannuation fund of Rs 1.5 lakh for taking tax benefit.

News have surfaced that the Prime Minister has instructed the Finance Minister to put a hold on the proposed plan to impose taxes on PF withdrawals. Finance Minister Arun Jaitley is expected to make an official announcement in this regard shortly.

SEVENTH PAY COMMISSION: GOOD NEWS! GOVT WON'T SCRAP EXISTING FACILITIES, ALLOWANCES

New Delhi, Mar 4: After dropping enough hint that Government is all set to implement the recommendations of Seventh Pay Commission soon, here is yet another good news for central government employees.

According to Finance Ministry sources, Government won't be making any changes in the existing advances and facilities, enjoyed by Central government employees. Pay commission had suggested abolition of many privileges and facilities including risk allowance, small family allowance, festival advance and motor cycle advance etc in its recommendations.

Abolition of Interview for Group C and D Services

The Central Government has decided to dispense with the interview for all Group C (including Group D) and non-gazetted Group B category in Central Government by 31.12.2015.

Accordingly, instructions have been issued to the Staff Selection Commission mandated with the recruitment of mainly Group B (Non-Gazetted) and Group C (Non-technical) posts in the Central Ministries/Departments to discontinue the interview in all mandated recruitments commencing from 1.1.2016.

All post offices to be computerised by 2017

India Posts is the largest postal network in the world and provides access to affordable services to all citizens in the country through its vast network. Out of 1.55 lakh post offices, 1.39 lakh are in rural areas and the remaining 15,736 in urban areas.

Over 1.55 lakh post offices in the country would be computerised by next year with an outlay of Rs 4,909 crore under the IT Modernisation Project of the Department of Posts. "At present, the project is at implementation stage and is likely to be completed by 2017," the Economic Survey 2015-16 tabled in Parliament today said.
